Harriet is an unincorporated community in Tom Green County, Texas. The community is located along U.S. Highway 67 and is a part of the San Angelo, Texas, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Harriet is home to several small businesses. The population is approximately 300. The local school district is Tom Green County Schools.

The post office in Harriet was established in 1909 and the first postmaster was named Charles P. Lovelace. His name may be a clue to the town's identity. The post office remained in Harriet until 1927 when San Angelo took over the business. Although Harriet was no longer a post office town, it continued to appear on county maps for many years.
