Located on the Concho River in Texas, San Angelo is a charming riverfront city with much to offer visitors. Today, the city's population is 99,893 - up from 93,200 in the 2010 census. While it is not the largest city in Texas, San Angelo has many attractions and places to visit. The city is home to a large university, Angelo State University, which was founded in 1928. It is a major college town in Texas with more than 10,000 students. It was even featured in the Princeton Review's "Best 373" list of top universities.
If you are a nature lover, San Angelo State Park is a great place to visit. It has over 600 acres of landscaped grounds and is home to 17 longhorns, the largest part of the Texas State Longhorn Herd, and a total of 24 bison. Visitors can take a guided tour of the park and its wildlife.
